Covering Modern Wall Panels

Dec 8th

Modern wall panels – If you prefer a more elegant solution to cover your panels, consider using fabric. It may seem like a weird idea, but the fabric acts as a kind of wallpaper that you can remove when you want to change the look of your room. Begin by washing panels to remove dirt and residues that may be on the surface. Choose a light fabric, such as gingham, polished cotton or chintz, in a color or pattern that you like and cut it to fit the paneled parts of your room. Use starch or a spray stiffening to adhere the fabric to the wall.

If you use starch, apply it to the modern wall panels with a roller or sponge. Place the fabric on the wall, leveling it as you go. Press the plunger in the wall to hold the fabric in place until the starch dries. Apply an additional layer of starch on top of the fabric, print any bubbles as you go. Continue until you have covered all panels with fabric. To remove the fabric, work a corner loosely and gently pull it off into sections.

Gypsum clay

You can completely hide the appearance of modern wall panels by covering it with plaster clay. Remove wall trim and cover panels with a primer. Gypsum clay does not completely fill in the grooves in panels, but you can even out areas by using glue plaster tape to cover the seams. Use a roller to apply Gypsum clay in panels, roll over each section a few times to achieve a smooth texture. Allow the mud to dry overnight. Apply a further layer of primer and apply color to your selected shadow.
